Senior data centre planner within the delivery team, developing and controlling construction programmes for major data centre works in Melbourne.

Senior project planner engaged for a tender phase, developing contract construction programmes for three Amazon data centres in Melbourne. The bid was successful and the work was awarded and transferred to the delivery teams. Provided guidance on the time-critical aspects of delivery and where to focus attention to manage delivery risk.

Developed a fitout programme for the tender on the STACK MEL02 data centre. Leveraging prior hyperscale experience, the programme was produced in a short timeframe to support the bid-submission date.

Client's representative for data centre construction planning on a programme launching the region and provisioning Azure services. Provided planning quality assurance across four Melbourne data centre builds totalling ~143MW (2×48MW, 1×38MW and 1×9.6MW), implementing robust, collaborative planning techniques with general contractors to promote on-time delivery.

Short-term engagement supporting Powercor's sister company with a planning-capability uplift and hands-on planning support.

Planned the deployment of new bushfire-mitigation technology (REFCL) across the Powercor network. As a response to the Royal Commission, this five-year programme reduces the incidence of fires initiated by fallen or tree-impacted powerlines.

The work carried real social value — much of the technology was deployed across the rural areas Chris knows and spends time in personally.

Risk manager for bidding contracts across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Worked with bid teams to identify uncertainties, analyse and evaluate them, and ensure appropriate contingency was included to safeguard tender margin. Employed both quantitative and qualitative techniques while coaching teams on cognitive bias, and applied ISO 31000 to transition the business toward a more professional understanding of risk.

EMtek provided engineering and design services to Rio Tinto's Silvergrass expansion project — a team Chris has worked with repeatedly over the years, first at Minerva Engineers and later at Calibre.

Spent four months building an extension to his home — tackling new foundations, services, structural steel erection and carpentry, resolving many first-time challenges through clear, rational problem-solving. This was followed by a six-month motorcycle trip around Western Europe, much of it in the alpine mountain passes.

Project liaison for a strategic initiative to transform the market and achieve an acceptable ROI for the business owners in Hong Kong. Worked alongside senior executives reporting to the CEO, providing guidance on project-management approach, rolling-wave planning and cost control, while ensuring corporate-governance requirements were met or dispensation was sought.
